Wedding in February – yes or no?

Organizing a wedding in winter has its pros and cons. It all depends on the preferences of the bride and groom. Such celebrations in winter have their own unique atmosphere (of course, if the weather is good and, for example, there is snow). However, there are other considerations - for example financial ones.

February – a good time to get married

February is the month of lovers (February 14 is Valentine's Day) and it is a really attractive period to get married and organize a wedding reception. Even though this month does not have the letter "r" in its name. It is common knowledge that, as superstitions say, the presence of the letter "r" in the name of the month in which we get married is supposed to herald happiness in marriage. However, we do not believe in such superstitions, because superstitions are not the guarantee of happiness and love in our common life.

The reasons for organizing a wedding in February are primarily the slack in the schedules of our service providers, as well as lower prices than in the high season. Typically, in the winter, halls reduce rental costs, as do photographers, cameramen, DJs and bands. There will be no problem with the date in the church, also when it comes to the wedding time.

Wedding in February – pros and cons of winter weather

The weather, contrary to appearances, can also add charm to the entire event. If it snows, it will create an amazing, romantic atmosphere. Just think how beautiful and magical your souvenir photos will look (especially from an outdoor session)! It is also worth taking into account that the room will not be too hot, and low temperatures guarantee that guests will stay inside the premises and not outside, which will certainly promote integration.

The bride and groom's outfit for a winter wedding is rather standard. The only thing that stands out is the outerwear - and you can go crazy here. Brides can go crazy and wear either a white coat or white fur. Other colors will also look great - we recommend green or red. The groom usually wears an elegant coat matching the color of his suit.

A wedding in February is also a lot of fun for the guests. Ladies usually choose warm shoes for church, which they then change to elegant high heels. Men usually wear elegant coats.  And this is where the problems begin - at least for the bride and groom. The wedding dress cannot be clearly seen through the cover in the church. This is also an additional cost.

Another disadvantage is, unfortunately, the rather capricious weather. In recent years, the weather has not accustomed us to beautiful winters. Instead we get mud and rain. However, if snow falls, temperatures will also drop, which is why various attractions for guests, such as a fireworks show or releasing lanterns, are no longer available.  What's more, wishes and gift giving will definitely not take place in front of the church, but in the wedding hall.

Of course, the date of organizing the wedding depends only on the bride and groom. Maybe it's worth considering organizing a celebration in such a beautiful month as February?
