A wedding DJ – what is worth agreeing on?

Probably most couples, at some point in their wedding preparations, have a list of things to do before the wedding. Usually quite an important item to tick off is the talk and arrangements with the DJ you have chosen. And this is where a question may arise – what exactly should you ask the DJ who will be at your wedding?

When signing a contract with a wedding DJ, you should agree on a few details, firstly to make working together easier, and secondly so that there is no disappointment along the way.

Wedding music comes first

There is no wedding party without music. There is no doubt that choosing the music for your wedding will be a key part of the arrangements with the DJ. Which hits you want most and which to avoid in particular is a topic to agree on at such a meeting. The DJ will advise you which songs work best at weddings. At this point it is also worth asking about possible musical attractions, e.g. working with a live musician.

Plan the wedding

Not to the minute, of course, as that could be impossible. However, having an outline wedding schedule will make things easier for everyone, including the DJ. The number of hot meals, the moment of cutting the cake, the oczepiny games, thanks to the parents – these are important elements that affect how the playlist is arranged, so that the whole party has the right dynamics for each part of the wedding.

How about an MC?

One of the more important arrangements with the DJ is deciding whether an MC will also be hired, or whether the chosen DJ will play several roles. You have to accept that if you want both good music and a great entertainer for all the guests' activities, who will get even the most reluctant onto the dance floor, one person may not be enough, and it is worth considering dividing the duties between a DJ and an MC at the wedding.

Special attractions

When signing the contract, it is also good to agree what exactly it covers and which attractions cost extra. What might they be? When working with Matt Remay Group, apart from hiring additional people such as musicians, an MC or even a photographer, additional services may include pyrotechnic shows, heavy smoke, bringing a “love” sign, installing special lighting at the venue, and setting up stage mirrors.

There may be many questions for the DJ. The conversation will certainly cover the first dance and the arrangements for it. It is also good to find out what stage equipment the DJ uses, i.e. what sound system, lighting, microphones, etc. A wedding raises many questions and answers. If you do not understand something, ask for examples from their portfolio, and the DJ will explain everything specifically and even illustrate it, for example with videos from previous weddings.
